We present to you the report “2000 days of Lawlessness”, which shows step by step how the political power led to the destruction of the rule of law in Poland.
It is a record of all legislative changes and other decisions of the executive and legislative authorities aimed at politicizing the judiciary. Cataloging and organizing these events is important so that we are aware of the methods by which the authorities took over the courts, which should be independent, according to the Constitution, in the interest of society. The report also shows that none of the steps taken since 2015 has been aimed at introducing a real and fair reform of the judiciary. Awareness of what actions have been carried out will be crucial when it is time to repair what has been destroyed.
Thanks to the courage and determination of judges, prosecutors, lawyers and citizens, the justice system has not yet collapsed. It depends on us whether the spirit of justice will survive and the rule of law will be rebuilt.
